Music is an integral part of a teens life, I know. Some of the songs you listen to may be about love, protest, change or just “being a part of the big picture of being a teen.” I am a child of the 60’s and so we listened to lots of music that protested the Vietnam War. I listen to all kinds of music-I am actually a very eclectic listener. Eros Ramozatti- an Italian- Christian music, country sometimes, definitely Reggae, Frank Sinatra when the traffic is awful, 50’s when I want to pretend “Sing Along”- but the music that moves my soul is Classic Rock. I love AC/DC- the Rolling Stones, I went to see the Beatles the first time they came to America and I like the music loud.

He’s into rock.
Montgomery, ClydePeriod 2I LOVE RENT, and all of the songs in it. Each song from the musical tells you a mini story about love, life, and the hardships of trying to live through the AIDS epidemic. These songs are just….soul moving, and I enjoy singing obnoxiously loud to them whenever I get the chance. BUt overall, I listen to the "Teen" age music. Rihanna, Lady GaGa, Flo Rida, Blue Foundation, PARAMORE<3, P!nk, Serani, and Britney Spears….. they all are amazing, and I feel really reflect the teen's mind. Some of the songs are really fun to just bounce to, and feel. So, these are my favorite artists.My Mom really loves R&B artists.. such as Keyshia Cole, Mariah Carey, and Mary J. Blige. But, I feel that her favorite artist is Whitney Houston. She is constantly telling me that I should know every song by her because she blared it and sang while she was pregnant with me. And now that I'm older, I sing with her while in the car to each and every song… every word!My Dad is into the Blues, Jazz, type. He really sticks close to Artists such as Curtis Mayfield (and the impressions), Otis Redding, The Temptations, and Sam Cooke. Whenever we go on a road trip, he plugs in his ipod, and starts Jammin!Lastly, my little sister….. I really do not know.. She is really into the newer kids' artists such as Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana, Raven Symone, and other Disney channel actors/actresses made singers… I feel that there are a select few movies from this area that are….alright.. but it has its snags. Some of the songs are annoying, and too….repetitive(sp?). So thats about it.

Daldi, MatiasP.1I mainly listen to various types of rock. I love listening to everything from the heavy metal band Judas Priest, to grunge such as Nirvana, and even classical music like The Beatles. What I like about Judas Priest is that they don’t have the same sound on any album, all the albums sound different and are all good in their own ways. I like listening to Nirvana because their songs can be calming such as Seasons in the Sun, but they can also be very heavy like Negative Creep. Usually my first choice to listen to is rap,hip-hop,or R&B some artists from this genre that I like to listen to are T.I., Drake, Lil Wayne, The-Dream, Keyshia Cole, Usher, and Brutha. But old-school hip-hop also interests me greatly I like to listen to artist to Biggie Smalls, Tupac, Eazy-E, Afrika Bambaataa, and Run DMC. But besides hip-hop and rap I also listen to reggae, reggaeton, rock, and techno. I listen to different types of music depending on the different mood I’m in because when ever I listen to music I get really into it and I just let the music run through my body and just feel it. When I listen to techno and certain hip-hop I'm usually hyper and want to just dance around. When I listen to rap or R&B I’m usually in my thinking mode and I just want to clear my head, and when I listen to reggae or reggaeton I usually want to danced around.Clyde likes to listen to musicals because of the story line that is behind every song. My favorite Rock bands are Avenged Sevenfold, Megadeth, Nirvana, All That Remains, and Judas Priest. My friend in the fourth grade gave me a disk of rock songs he liked and I liked those songs and that’s what got me into rock. Rock makes me feel jumpy when songs have a fast pace but when songs have a slow pace those songs make me sleepy and calm.My favorite techno bands are Dj Splash, Darude, Daft Punk, Crazy Frog, Dj Raaban, and EMI. And for other genres AC/DC, Ozzy Osbourne, Gunz n Roses, R.E.M, Poppa Roach,Cascada, Rob Mayth,Techno Official,and Nirvana.An the story that I get from all these artist in there songs are true life now, back then and and what could happen if you fight for your dreams or fall off the right path. Some of my favorite bands are Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Metallica. But my favorite guitarist of them all is Jimi Hendrix because his music is more creative than anything else I’ve heard. Also, since I have learned to play some of Hendrix’s songs I can honestly say that no other guitarist played the instrument quite the way he did.Above my comment, Austin says he listens to hip hop and techno because it makes him feel like he is “on top of the world.”Orlando says he likes bands like megadeth and Judas priest because it makes him feel jumpy and energetic.
Dang, LinaPeriod 1 Depending on what happened that day and my mood, I listen to music reflecting on events that happened. I like listening to some rap songs because the artists were usually brought up through hardships and they tell a story through their song. When you listen to the words, you realize that what you have should be appreciated and what is given, you should take advantage of it and making the best out of things. One of my favorite artists is T.I because he grew up struggling. He’s about to go into jail but he learned his mistakes. There is a tv show where he is helping others to prevent the same mistake he did before. above, I learned that Matthew Bisconti plays guitar(: and that one of his favorite artists is Jimmy Hendrix. Chajulall, Nalinie p1The types of music I like vary everyday. If I am having a bad day and I am upset, I like to listen to slow reggae songs that calm me down and reggae love songs. In any other normal day I like to listen to hip hop because it seems to tell about life itself and the struggles you will face. I also like to listen to loud, fast hip hop and reggae to get me pumped up and energized. I learned that Lina likes some rap songs because they tell a story through the songs and it lets you appreciate what you have.I also learned that Matthew likes classic rock, hard rock, and metal. He also said he plays the guitar and loves Jimmy Hedrix and says no one else can play like him.
Bridenburg, BrandonPeriod-1Unlike most people, I do not listen to all types of music. Whenever I’m listening to music It’s mainly Guns N Roses. I find them to be the greatest band there ever was. No other band has the energy and creativity that they have. From Steven Alder’s creative drum beats, Duff McKagan’s distinct bass lines, Izzy Stradlin’s smooth rhythm, Slash’s blues incorporated guitar solos, and Axl Rose’s screeching vocals make this band like no other. Songs like “Nightrain” and “It’s so Easy” tell about the about the band’s struggle with drugs and alcohol. While other songs like “My Michelle” and “You’re Crazy” tell about personal experiences with a number of different people and really show how loud and intense this band can be. Songs like “November Rain” and “Don’t Cry” show a softer side of the band. I even found the new album Chinese Democracy to be quite impressive even though Axl Rose is the only original member left in the band. Axl Rose is the man that inspired me to write my own songs and start singing. Whenever my band performs a Guns N Roses song live, I find myself jumping around the stage like a maniac, putting more soul and energy into to the song more than any other cover we have ever preformed. The entire band has influenced me more than any other musician has. I also listen to Slayer. I usually listen to them when I’m extremely mad about something. I find that listening to songs like “Angel of Death” and “Piece by Piece” are as satisfying as giving someone a punch to the face. I learned that Matthew mainly listens to classic rock and finds that no one can play the guitar like Jimi Hendrix.I also learned that Nalinie listens to reggae to calm herself down. She listens to hip hop because it tells about life and the struggles you will face.

Most of the songs that I listen to are of the “teen” age that you’d generally hear on Y-100. When I’m really excited or happy I like to listen to upbeat songs. Before a big swim meet, I listen to a song with a really fast tempo over and over again. This actually helps me get a steady rythm to swim to, which especially helps for long distance races. I learned that Clyde loves Rent, and every song in it. He says that alot of the songs are very soul moving. I also learned that Mathew plays the guitar, and some of his favorite bands are Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Metallica

I don't like heavy metal, which people often associate with rock, I like alternative rock, a bit of classical rock, and soft to moderate rock. Some of my favorite bands are Linkin Park, Lostprohets, Three Doors Down, and Breaking Benjamin, among others. Also, the kind of music I listen to either depends on my mood, or can change my mood. For example, if I'm sad I might either listen to sad music, or I might listen to happy music that will lift my spirits some. One last thing about the music I like is that I like listening to songs that tell a story or that show lots of emotion, especiallly love. I read that Natalie Hamilton likes to listen to almost any type of music. She also uses upbeat music as a way to get herself pumped for a swim meet.Ialso read that Vanesa Pierre likes to listen to most kinds of music, but usually prefers rap, hip-hop, or R&B as a first choice. You can also tell her mood by what kind of music she's listening to.

If I’d have to choose I’d have to say that classical music such as Claire De Lune, Choplin, and Beethoven. I’ve only made an exception for this one. I don’t know why but whenever I hear music like this I feel really calm. It’s like you can’t remain angry while it’s playing. Believe me I’ve tried.Edgar Alvarez listens to anything except for country and his favorite bands are guns n roses as well as linkin park which I have to agree with.Alan Bruckenstein listens to almost any type of music but his favorite is rock. He doesn’t listen to havy rock but alternative rock, which I like, and it also depends on what his moods are like to determine which music he should listen to at that moment.
Truppman, DanielPeriod 3Music that really gets to me is music that sounds good and has meaningful lyrics. Bands such as Elysia are amazing. Their music is very good and the lyrics are even better. They stand up for minorities and just send out a message to people to stop being racist or homophobic or anything discriminating. But the downside of the lyrics are that they can be violent and they have been banned from playing at some places. Another artist/band member I love is Anthony Green. His music is amazing because his ability for his pitch to go so low to so high is really awesome. His lyrics are also very well thought out and the sound of the music very melodic and calm. Overall, I listen to a lot of genres. My favorite genres are deathcore, metalcore, grindcore, reggae, old rap, good alternative (such as circa survive), and a lot more except country, oldies, and new rap and hiphop. I really hate to see when kids listen to music to fit into crowds or trends even though they don’t like the music. Or when people are ignorant to listen to anything other than the mainstream. I learned that brandon has a good taste in music because he has a valid reason to listen to the bands that he does such as guns n roses. I also saw that george likes old rap which I also like.

My all time favorite is Christian music, i feel like I'm praising the Lord while i sing along with the lyrics. I can't go a day without listening to music. My favorite band id Chicago… well I think their a band. I went to a Chicago concert and it was really awesome, that's when I knew that they were my favorite. . Classic Rock is one of my all time favorites. I love music that are about love, it puts a smile on my face and makes me think about my love life. Moreno, CamiloPeriod 2Well, my favorite type of music is rock mainly. I mostly listen to artists like Avenged Sevenfold and All That Remains, which are more heavy metal. I like these songs/ artists because their music is energetic and exciting. I especially listen to these bands because the drummers are amazing. As you may know, I play the drums and I like to play hard songs like Second Heartbeat by Avenged Sevenfold.Matias likes music similar to mine so I respect him a little because of that. He also plays guitar which is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Daniel Truppman also likes music similar to mine. His is a little more intense than mine though, but those artists are pretty cool too…
I usually like all kinds of music. Some of my favorite types of music are country and rap/ hip hop. SOme of my favorite country artist are Keith Urban and Tim Mcgraw. One of my favorite hip hop artist is Lady Gaga. I also like some types of rock music. The only types of music that I don’t like is jazz and classical because it does not seem to have the types of rhythm that I usually like. Camilo likes rock music. Even though he doesn’t listen to the same type of music I listen to, I still like rock music and the fact that he states his opinion on a band.Veronica likes all different kinds of music. It is very fastidious of people to place these types of music in such categories such as nu metal, grungr, or new wave, so I won't bother placing artists into such categories. Foo Fighter, Fall Out Boy, My chemical romance, T.I., Kanye West, AFI, Finger Eleven, Mana, Juanes, Camila, Lifehouse, Bob Marley, Rihanna, Don Omar, Green Day, Maroon 5, Coldplay, Evanescence, 3 Doors Down, Nickleback, All-american rejects, Seether, Linkin Park, Li'l Wayne, Flo Rida, Ne-yo, Carolina Liar, Cobra Starship, Taylor Swift, Gorillaz and much more. Sometimes, the mere fact that I don't care under what category an artist's music is, it's still music and that is why I listen to my favorite songs randomly, no matter how I feel! Awesome…I need to stop listening to so many singers now that I know way too much. LOL. The only music I seriously, do not listen to is by Chiodos, Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, and opera, unless it's really good opera. LOLSara listens to all types of music depending on her mood such as techno when she's happy,or lowbeat son when she's down in the ground.Lesly likes almost any type of music except rap and hip-hop as she dutifully expresses herself through her music and her music derives from her environment. If I’m just bored I’ll listen to rap or hip hop. If I;m at a spanish party I dont mind listening to regeaton which is also a great type of music. The only types of music I simply can’t stand to listen to is country and classic music. I have nothing against it, but it’s simply not my style. I really like Lil Wayne, Flo-Rida, Linkin Park, Good Charlote, Darude, and DJ TIESTO.Jose listens to all types of music because he’s a very diverse person. I’m not that much of a fan on classic rock like Led Zepplin and AC/DC. I can go up to a few songs of heavy metal, but once I break through that barrier and head to death metal, I turn and run! My favorite bands are Decyfer Down, Hoobastank, Rise Against, Skillet, Sum 41, and Thousand Foot Krutch. I especially love fast-paced songs because they make you get energetic. Although, I can listen to any type of song anytime, anywhere (Except death metal). When I’m sad I can listen to heavy metal or any other song, they all affect me in the same way.I learned that Jordan listens to Rise Against who are AWESOME!!! He listens to certain types of music depending on how he feels.I also learned that Alan loves slow rock, alternative rock, and classical rock (YES!)

Although I don't usually listen to rap my favorite rapper is Eminem. My favorite bands are Disturbed, Ill Nino, Sum 41, Breaking Benjamin and Bullet For My Valentine. Dan Donegan is my favorite guitarist. The slower bands I listen to are Lifehouse and Trading Yesterday which generally talk about hardships or love. The Best R&B singers are Ne-yo, J-Holiday, Lloyd, and Chris Brown is alright. I listen to songs depending on my mood. When I'm Angry or playing video games hard rock but when I'm in a contemplative mood I'll hear slow rock. Even some of those old corny songs that are just fun to dance to with my friends. lol. I mainly listen to country and hip hop and like a soft rock I guess you could call it lol. I like Country because it relaxs me and I just like the rythem. One of my favorite country artists are Carrie Underwood. I really enjoy listening to her songs. I like listening to hip hop because, A, Ive been dancing to it for about 4 years, and also because I like the beat, its hard not to want to dance to it. lol. One of my favorite artists is Pitbull. I like rock because its just fun to listen to. One of the rocker artists I like to listen to is Nickleback, I know you guys are probably like ew or whatever, but I like these two really good songs from him-Burn it to the ground, and There’s gotta be somebody. You should definitly open your mind to all types of music. Thats what I do.Haha, Daniel, well he listens to some hard core rock and screamo. lol. I think its funny because he always sends me these crazy pig sqwealing, intense screaming music videos. He is very open minded about music, and we both like the same type of music-Chicken fried(country, lol) and techno. I prefer listening to heavy metal rock, but I like listening to anything but country and rap. I really don't have a favorite band, but my current favorite songs would have to be "Be My Sacrifice" and "Sky Burial". I like listening to these songs because they act as stress relievers for a long day at school.Aleksandra is two above me and I learned that she likes to listen to country and techno. She says that these types of songs her pick up her mood when she's down in the dumps and calm her down after a long day at school.I also learned that Ceshae likes listening to R&B, but likes Pop as well. Also, it’s the type of music that you can listen to loudly and dance like there’s no tomorrow. In addition to reggaeton, I listen to pop/rock, techno/house, and some Latin music (pop, traditional, salsa, etc…). I love music and I can’t envision my world without it.- George Gaubeca said he listens to all types of music; his favorites being reggaeton and some old school hip hop. As a friend, I can confirm this; he loves reggaeton as much or more than I do!- I learned that Juan Duran listens to almost every type of music, but he dislikes hardcore rock.

I expecially love the songs from the ’80s. People could actually dance to that type of music. Today’s music is nothing but grinding. My favorite song is “remedy” by seether which really isnt a metal song but its rock (wich i love also just not classic, sorry mrs. hardy). Caraballo, JosePeriod 1English 9My favorite type of music is rap and R&B. You would never find a rock song in my i pod(which is a cheap o depo 60 dollar i pod with no screen that my sister gave me) expect with a Lincoln Park album that had Jay Z in all their song. Other than that you would never see me listening to rock unless I was forced to. Yet i hate listening to the R&B and rap songs that just have to do with getting a girl. I prefer the classic style because that is what I feel has a soul to it. Once I find a good song in my i pod I just keep repeating it as it takes me through a story. I like to listen to songs that inspire to reach new rights and ti continue fighting. My favorite song of all time is called I Can by Nas. If it is possible i would like to save in in class to give people a better view of what i listen to.I read above that Jonathan Fernandez would listen to anything but country(same here i rather shot myself in the big toe then listen to country) He likes music like rock and R&BPatrick Thumm said that he liked listening to rap and R&B. Usually I listen to different types of music because if I just listen to one type of music for more then 15 minutes I go crazy. I like variety and get bored very fast when I’m listening to the same type of music repeatedly. The maximum number of songs of the same genre that I can listen to continuously is two songs. Additionally, the mood I’m in also determines what I listen to, for example when I’m feeling down and sad I like to listen to songs by Phil Collins, whom wrote one of my favorite songs “Look through my eyes”. When I’m feeling excited and just want to dance, I listen to techno, rock, metal, hip-hop, salsa, merengue, reggaeton, etc. Finally, my favorite band has to be The Eagles with their song Hotel California. I lOVE It!! Monica wrote about the fact that she loves reggaeton because it is fun to dance to and it brings back memories. I like doing your work because I know if I put the effort into it, you’ll actually take time and effort to read it. Even if you give me a low grade it gives me a feeling of self-pride that someone took the time to read my work. Most teachers require you to do long boring assignments that take decades to create but they only take 5 seconds to look over and grade us according to how big or long it is. Maybe this is why kids cheat or simply don’t do the work of other classes, because they feel like if they do their work its worthless. You should tell your teachers that are your friends that if they actually read their kids work, it might reduce cheating and motivate kids to do better. Enough of the philosophical approach to checking work. All this gained knowledge is thanks to the psychology book I’m reading lol. But yea tell your friends. Well I like all types of music. I listen to different types of music at different times. My favorite music though is electronic and trance. I like this music because it is very relaxing, and the lyrics are very motivating. If you listen to the songs they actually make you like think about life. I still love every type of music except country. Sorry country i really don’t like you. I personally don't have a type of music I like the most. I listen to a variety of everything except country, classic or heavy metal. The songs and type of music I listen to depends on my mood and what I'm thinking about at the moment. I like hip-hop, reggaeton, pop, r&b and rock. I alwys need music in my life but there is not one specific thing I always listen to. (I couldn't do that). For example, if I'm on the bus in the mornign and it's raining I'd pick a slow, less lyric song. If I'm having a good day and I'm in a good mood I'll put on some hip-hop, r&b or pop. When we where in Selvanik's calss and running and stuff I would use a techno or electronic. I listen to just about all types of music, rap, classic rock, hip hop, ragaeton(I think that’s how you spell it), country, alternative rock, you name it I listened to it. But honestly the music that really moves my soal is classic rock. I Love AC/DC, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Steve Miller, The Eagles and The Who. I may not look like a person who likes Classic Rock but it’s true I love it.Edgar Alvarez said that he listens to anything but country, I never knew that about him. I personally like country and everything else.Marcel Matyssek said that he likes hip hop and rap. I don’t really like hip hop and rap but, personally don’t like it to much. Their is nothing wrong with it, it just doesn’t really “click” with me. Their will be a few songs every now and then but it’s not that often. Such songs like this are Toy soldiers by Eminem, Lose Yourself by Eminem, and finally Let it Rock by Kevin Rudolph and Lil’ Wayne. Dear Ms. Hardy, we will miss you when we leave you. I know that my writing still has a lot of misplaced modifiers and a lot of other things that I should get rid of. I know that I may always be this way but, I will work my hardest to get better at it. Your way of teaching is the best that I ever have known. I really don’t want to go to Ms. Mininchelo’s class, but I know that I don’t have a say in it. If I did I would keep you as our permanent teacher. All of your students put together a petition to keep you , but that had no effect. I do not want to go Ms. Mininchelo’s class but II will have to do it. I will fight to stay focused and I make you a solemn promise from the bottom of my heart that I will do better in my classes and I will try to improve my writing ability. Bard, GeorgePeriod 1The main type of music that I listen to is classic rock. I love listening to things like AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, The Cars, The Beatles… stuff like that. I am a big fan of music, I probably have 2000 songs on my computer that mostly consist of classic rock. However, I am not a big fan of rap and hip hop. I think that it is extremely annoying to listen to this music and I cant believe people make money for it.I have read Luciano and Joses blog. First off I dont know what kind of time Luciano has on his hands to write all of that. Anyways, he listens to electronic and stuff like that. Jose enjoys listening to rap and hip hop. It looks like they are both passionate about the type of music that they listen to.

I just wanted to say Ms.Hardy that you are not easy to let go of as a teacher who I have only had for 9 weeks. It is true that a petition was started but some cold hearted people had different opinions for which I will not say. You have been the most surprisng teacher I have had in my entire education. The way you act towards us makes a big difference of how we act towards you. To me your not my teacher, but your my friend. Although your the age you are now your a kid at heart and I appreciate that. And if I ever have a snag involving my grades your ears are open and ready to listen. I can honestly say I've never felt this way about a teacher before. Ms.Hardy if I can give you one bit of advice….NEVER change. My brother introduced me to Reggeton and i love him for it, reggeton is probably the easiest music to dance to iy always has teh best beats!! I actually think that he introduced me to hip hop too which now is a big part of my life. My dad has a much different look on latin music so i listen to salsa, merengue and a little bit of bachata. Growing up i listened to a different mix of the oldies with my mom so when one of those songs comes on i surprise my self because i know ALL of the words. But once i discovered RnB and pop I found the music i LOVE. Music is my biggest stress reliever no matter what! I do listen to a lot of different music but im not really open to listening to new types of music.Dylan says that Metalica is his favorite band because it motivates him to work.Melissa listens to all types of music but pop is her favorite because it helps her to forget everything thats going on in her life.LOVE NATALIE!!

Depending on what mood I'm in or what has happened through out my day determines what I listen to. I like country music because it tells a story. On the other hand though, I like rap and hip-hop as well. I like listening to music that i can relate to. As well as those types, I like songs that are played on Y-100 and XM 20 on 20. I have so much that I like that I would literally probably be here like forever and a day just having to list it all! It's just like when I put the headphones in I can turn it up really loud and block everything else, it gives me a chance to just sit back and think. I also love singing songs! Still music genres such as orchestra have the same effect on me and jazz helps me calm down when I get stressed.Eric said that he likes music that pumps you up such as music from system of a down which really pumps up the body.Bojana said that she likes all types of music and that pop and serbian music since pop cheers her up and serbian music makes her feel better.

I really don't have a favorite band, but my current favorite songs would have to be "Be My Sacrifice" and "Sky Burial". I like listening to these songs because they act as stress relievers for a long day at school.Aleksandra is two above me and I learned that she likes to listen to country and techno. She says that these types of songs her pick up her mood when she's down in the dumps and calm her down after a long day at school.I also learned that Ceshae likes listening to R&B, but likes Pop as well. My artists are lil wayne drake niki manij plies evt… I especially love fast-paced songs because they make you get energetic. Although, I can listen to any type of song anytime, anywhere. i dont like death metal or real hard rock songs some of them are okk but not all.I learned that brianna listens to jonas brother who are great!!! she listens to certain types of music depending on how she feels.I also learned that neketa loves drake and lil w2ayne just like me thats why we get along so well.
